Mercedes Benz

300 SL

1957

€ 1,800,000 EUR

Delivered new in an elegant Silbergrau (DB180) exterior, paired with a striking Leder rot (1079) interior and a classic black soft top, this 1957 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster boasts both timeless style and a completely documented history.

Delivered on December 5, 1957, to its first keeper, Mr. Chareyon, this 300 SL became a cherished classic and stayed with him until the very end of his life. After Mr. Chareyon’s passing in 1991, it was displayed in the La Réole museum near Bordeaux, where it remained until 2003.

The car's second owner, Mr. Jauzence, acquired it in July 2003 with 92,445 km on the odometer. Major work was conducted at this time, with an appraisal by M. Conti confirming its excellent condition and original presentation.

In October 2006, the car found its third owner, Mr. Philippe Lejeune, who commissioned a full restoration by renowned specialists Alain Bourgeois (AB Racing) and G. Paillet (Atelier SL). This extensive renovation included a complete mechanical overhaul: the engine was dismantled and rebuilt with new pistons, rocker arms, and valves. The crankshaft was rebalanced, and the engine received a new cylinder head, refurbished camshafts, and an injection pump. The gearbox, axles, and brakes were also thoroughly refurbished.

The fourth owner, Mr. Bach, acquired the car in July 2010 when the mileage was 98,433 km. Under his care, the car surpassed the 100,000 km milestone on April 5, 2018. A full service followed in January 2020 by AB Racing, and in June of the same year, Paris Pagode replaced the mats and cleaned the leather interior.

Its fifth and last owner, Mr. Conrad Meissler took ownership in May 2022, with the most recent service completed by M&W Classic in Markgröningen, Germany, in 2023.

In 2024, Solberget acquired the car, since then, we have completed a full mechanical test on the car, ensuring it presents as well mechanically as cosmetically. Documentation, photos, and videos are available upon request. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
